19-23 September,  State Library of South Australia Atrium, North Tce

Each day this week the State Library Atrium will be transformed into a mini Indonesian pasar with art and craft displays, workshops and demonstrations.  Go on a journey to the kampung with Bapak Ferry as he reveals the secrets to turning bamboo into finely tuned musical instruments. Marvel at the skill Wayan Dudug displays in transforming dull pieces of wood into masterpieces fit for a Raja’s garden. Learn about the Javanese and Balinese alphabet. Considered the most elaborate and ornate scripts of Southeast Asia, they are fast becoming forgotten since the adoption of Bahasa as the national language.

All this and more is taking place during the week leading up to the Indofest-Adelaide 2016 Cultural and Culinary Festival on Sunday 25 September.
